We Taught TetherBoxes to Hear
Last month we taught them to see. Now they listen too.
Video analytics have a blind spot: they only work where the camera can see. Glass breaking behind a wall, a smoke alarm in an adjacent room, someone screaming off-screen - none of these trigger video analytics. A site with 16 cameras still has corridors, stairwells, and spaces with no visual coverage.
TetherX Audio AI classifies 63 distinct sounds across 7 categories, running continuously alongside video detection as a second sensory layer.

Loud sounds above 99 dB SPL are automatically flagged regardless of classification.
Built for Monitoring
Audio events appear with purple icons on thumbnails - instantly distinguishable from video detections when an operator is scanning dozens of events. Filter by category or individual sound class. Route notifications by type: glass break alerts to the monitoring station, dog barking to the site manager.
A person detected on camera at 3am is interesting. A person detected at 3am with glass breaking on audio is an incident. The combination creates context that neither sensor provides alone.
Privacy by Design
Audio is more sensitive than video. With TetherX Audio AI, everything runs on the TetherBox - no audio is sent to the cloud. Only classification metadata (e.g. "glass break at 03:14") is stored. The raw audio stays on-site in the recordings, under the site owner's control.
No additional hardware, no cloud subscription, no bandwidth impact. Both video AI and audio AI run on the same TetherBox, at the same time.
