A platform that grew up inside the trade.
We started in 2013 hosting a single multi-site recording bridge for a UK installer who needed remote video that did not require a customer-side server. Over the decade since, every new feature - cloud retention, AI analytics, access integration, the alarm-panel layer - shipped because an integrator asked for it on a job. That is the bit that has not changed.
Bridge to the cloud
First TetherBox in the field. Multi-site recording from a single browser, an open API for integrators, cameras kept off the public Internet by design.
Multi-tenant + alarms
The Timeline concept lets one integrator manage every customer estate from one login. Live in-browser streaming, intruder-panel integration and the supported-camera compatibility database land in the same year.
ANPR + open API
Automatic number-plate recognition with real-time alerts. A documented public API for third-party integrations, cloud-backed recording, PTZ controls and the HD live-view rewrite.
TetherBox + secure-by-default
The platform rebrands from TimeBox to TetherBox. Two-factor authentication, OAuth-style application access and drive-health monitoring make secure-by-default the baseline.
Regional + mobile
India cloud region online. The TetherBox hardware range expands (Pico, Giga, rackmount), the branded iOS app ships and the events page goes real-time.
AI alarms + ARC integration
Machine-learning false-alarm filtering across the camera fleet. Out-of-the-box integration with IMMIX, Sentinel, HikCentral and CONXTD alarm-receiving centres. Paxton Net2 access and two-way audio land alongside.
Platform speed-up
A foundational platform rebuild. TetherX 47% faster end-to-end, the TetherBox 30% faster on 25% less RAM. 100-camera live-view layouts and HikProConnect alarm pull-through.
In-house AI + private cloud
In-house AI model deployed for council rubbish detection and bespoke security scenarios. Software-only TetherBox deployments and private-cloud instances for enterprise estates over 100 sites.
300× faster provisioning
TetherBox provisioning rewrite delivers 16–300× faster updates on patchy site links. Faster device discovery after boot, friendlier diagnostics and tighter cloud-side performance underneath.
Live-view + mobile rewrite
Live-view player rewrite with four latency profiles, automatic fallback and same-network local upgrade. Dedicated mobile and tablet layouts, bulk export, drive-health diagnostics with smart bad-cable detection.
Auto-config + ARC workflow
Automatic camera onboarding and bulk reconfiguration across a site in a few clicks. Monitoring Strip and ARC Performance Reports for alarm-receiving centres. Australian launch and a growing channel programme - 1,000+ integrations, 2,000+ deployments live.
One platform watching video, access and alarms across 2,000+ deployments - built by the people who still answer the phone.
The people who decide what ships are the ones you can reach.
Roman wrote the first TetherBox in 2013 and still owns the platform direction. Mike joined in 2020 to build the partner channel and run operations. Behind them: a support team in the UK and an engineering team in Ukraine shipping the platform. Engineering on one side, the channel on the other - and no layers in between you and the roadmap.
Roman Gaufman
Founder & CEO
Engineering background. Wrote the first version of TetherX and still owns the platform direction - cloud architecture, the TetherBox, AI on the edge and the security-first defaults the platform is built on.
Mike Morris
COO
Operations and the channel. Joined in 2020 to build the partner programme, and runs deployments and the day-to-day with the installers who put TetherX in front of every customer.
A small, channel-led team behind the platform - engineers, support, and the people who run the partner network. We hire rarely and read every application.
Get in touch about working with usPrivately owned, so the product is built for you.
TetherX is owned by the people who build it - no venture capital, no private equity, no outside shareholders, and no parent manufacturer. That is not a detail. It decides what gets built, what stays, and how fast it moves.
No investors steering the product
No VC fund, no private equity, no board chasing a quarterly number. Decisions are made for the platform and the people who run it - not to hit someone else's exit timeline.
No manufacturer agenda
We do not make cameras, so we are not quietly steering you onto our own hardware. The platform stays open across 1,000+ integrations because that is what is best for you, not for a manufacturer's sales target.
We do not sunset what works
Nothing gets killed because it is not generating enough revenue this quarter. If your sites depend on a feature, it stays - and it keeps getting better. No forced migrations, no end-of-life letters for the thing you rely on.
Fast turnaround, your roadmap
An installer asks for something on a job and it can ship in weeks, not a vendor committee's next financial year. The roadmap is driven by the sites you win and the problems you hit - you can pick up the phone and shape it.
Owned and run from the UK and Australia since 2013. The same hands that wrote the platform still answer for it.
Engineered in Ukraine, signed off in Australia and the UK.
Our engineering team is based in Ukraine, but nothing reaches a customer's site on trust alone. Every change is reviewed and signed off by the team in Australia and the UK before it ships - the same hands that own the platform direction.
Ukraine-based engineering team
A focused team building across video, access and the alarm layer. Features ship because an installer asked for one on a job - not because of a backlog committee.
Reviewed and signed off in AU / UK
No code reaches production without review and sign-off by the Australia and UK team. One pipeline, one standard, every release.
Secure by default, end to end
Two-factor, OAuth-style access and cameras kept off the public Internet, baseline since 2019. ISO 27001 certified cloud - detail on the security & compliance page.
Covered in the trade press (as Xanview, 2018-2019)
Three things, and only three things.
Open hardware
Every camera brand, every NVR, every ONVIF device. 1,000+ integrations and counting. The customer never gets stranded on one vendor.
Sold through the trade
A single, accredited installer scopes, fits and supports the job. We do not run a direct sales motion that competes with the partner who won the customer.
UK-built, regionally hosted
Designed in the UK, hosted in audited data centres across UK, EU, US, Canada, India and Australia. Pick the region per site - compliance, not paperwork.
