TetherX includes a Support Access toggle that you control. Only account admins can enable it - integrators and TetherX support cannot enable it themselves.

Disabled

No access to video, events, ANPR, or configuration changes. Health monitoring only.

Support can assist with troubleshooting and configuration. All access is logged.

Your video is stored in secure data centres operated by Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage. You choose your preferred region: United Kingdom, United States, Canada, India, or Australia. All data centres are SOC 2 Type II compliant and ISO 27001 certified. Video will be stored in your chosen region and never transferred to other jurisdictions without your explicit consent.

All video is transmitted over encrypted TLS 1.2+ (HTTPS) channels and stored using AES-256 encryption at rest. The TetherBox gateway provides an additional layer of security by creating both a hardware and software break between your local recording devices and the Internet. Unlike traditional systems that require port forwarding, TetherX uses secure outbound connections only - your cameras never need to be exposed to the Internet.

TetherX infrastructure meets ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, HIPAA eligibility, and PCI-DSS standards. Our cloud storage uses FIPS-197 compliant AES-256 encryption. All data centres maintain comprehensive physical security with 24/7 monitoring, redundant power, and fire suppression systems. Only if you enable Support Access. This is a toggle in your account settings that only admins can control - integrators and TetherX support cannot enable it themselves. When disabled, support can only see basic health monitoring data. When enabled for troubleshooting, all access is fully logged in your audit trail and notifications are sent when the setting changes.

TetherX is designed for network resilience. If your Internet connection drops, video continues recording locally on your NVR/DVR or TetherBox. When the connection is restored, any pending cloud uploads resume automatically. For cloud recording customers, footage buffers locally and uploads when connectivity returns. This ensures you never lose critical evidence due to network issues.

Yes. TetherX provides court-ready forensic evidence with SHA1 checksums generated every minute to verify footage integrity. Complete audit trails record who accessed footage, when, from what IP address, and what actions were taken. This chain of custody documentation meets requirements for legal proceedings and insurance claims. Exported clips include integrity verification data.
